Upon arrival into Lima´s International Airport you will make your way through the arrivals doors. Your hotel is conveniently located in the carpark of the airport. A quick walk and no need for transfers. You will appreciate the convenience of slipping straight into a comfortable bed after your international flight.

Breakfast at your hotel at the airport. At the designated time you will walk over to the airport and check in for your flight from Lima to Arequipa. Upon arrival into Arequipa you will be met by our staff holding a sign with your "last name" on it. You will be greeted and transferred to your hotel where you will have a short pre-briefing. Free day to enjoy Peru´s most beautiful city.

In the evening we have included a 3 course meal at our favorite restaurant in Arequipa called Zig Zag. *The staircase here was built by Gustave Eiffel.

Arequipa City Tour

Your tour of the "White City" will commence at the San Lazaro Quarter, here we will walk along the picturesque streets adorned with geraniums. We will then head to the Carmen Alto viewpoint from where we will admire the beautiful landscape of farming terraces and the three guardian volcanoes that surround the city: Misti, Chachani and Picchu-Picchu. We will then continue to the colonial district of Yanahuara, famous for its church built in Andalusia style, and its viewpoint with its stunning architecture surrounded by white sillar stone arches. We will visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine, an impressive religious monument that has been closed to the public for nearly 400 years, with its narrow streets and plazas similar to those of Seville and Granada. Finally we will head to the main square, where we will be able to see the Cathedral and the arches that surround the plaza, we will visit the Jesuit Church which was built in the 17th century, famous for its cloisters and dome. After the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel where you will overnight.

Day 1 - Colca

Morning pick up for your trip to Colca along the way passing Chachani Volcano, Pampa de Arrieros and the National Reserve of Pampa Canahuas where slender Vicunas can be appreciated. At Patapampa (4800m) you will observe the Volcanoes that surround Arequipa. We will then descend to Chivay for lunch. Afterwards you will arrive at your hotel where you will enjoy the relaxing Andean surrounds soaking in the world class medicinal Hot Springs.

Recommendation:

We recommend that you stay at the Colca Lodge, one of our favorite hotels in Peru with the most amazing Hot Springs. A great opportunity to have some rest, relaxation and down time.

Day 2 - Colca

Pick up and we will head towards the Condor´s Cross near Chivay. It´s here at one of the most stunning parts of the Colca Canyon that we will witness the huge Condors soaring the canyon walls. We will visit the towns of Maca, Achoma and the lookouts of Antahuilque and Choquetico. In the afternoon we will head back towards Arequipa enjoying lunch at a restaurant along the way. Upon arrival into Arequipa you will be dropped off at your hotel where you will overnight.

Cusco City tour

Today you will be picked up from hotel for your tour of Cusco. We will make our way up to the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, and start our excursion visiting the fortress with the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and quiet, where you will be able to admire the huge rocks measuring up to 4 meters. We will then head to Qénqo, an ancient temple dedicated to the Puma, where you will observe an altar used for sacrifices, and then Tambomachay the sacred fountain of life and health. We will enjoy a panoramic view at Puca Pucara, a watchtower that controlled the entrance to the city. Afterwards we will visit the Temple of the Sun "Korikancha", on top of which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. A legend tells that this temple was entirely lined with gold sheets which brought much enthusiasm to the Conquistadors upon their arrival. Finally, we will go to the Main Square and will visit the Cathedral that houses invaluable colonial paintings and other works of art such as the Cross that arrived with the first Spanish Conquerors. After your tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Tour of the Sacred Valley

Pick up from your hotel in morning. Today you will discover the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the town of Chinchero, the most typical and picturesque of the Sacred Valley where we will appreciate its Inca archaeological complex and its beautiful colonial church. Chinchero is also famous for its weavers, who will teach the ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning with Alpaca wool. We will continue to Moray, a beautiful and curious Inca archaeological complex composed of colossal concentric terraces simulating a large amphitheater. In Inca times it served as an agricultural laboratory where diverse microclimates were recreated. Lunch at a restaurant in the area. Finally, we end our tour visiting the fabulous archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, a religious, military and agricultural center. We will then make our way down to Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, the small town below Machu Picchu. Upon arrival you will be escorted to your hotel. Your guide will give you a short pre-briefing about your tour of Machu Picchu. Dinner is included at your hotel. Overnight.

Tour of Machu Picchu

At the designated time you will take the shuttle bus up to Machu Picchu from the town of Aguas Calientes. During the ascent you will appreciate the lush topical cloud forest landscape which is inhabited by brightly colored exotic plants and hummingbirds. Included is a 4 hour visit of Machu Picchu (one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World) and a 2 hour guided tour with your guide. Here you will visit the most important sites such as: The Sun Temple, Intihuatana (Sun Stone), and the room of three windows. Machu Picchu is at the top of everyones bucket list and it is far bigger, grandiose and magical in person than any photo or postcard, making it the most popular destination in Latin America.

Buffet Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge

By lunchtime you will have worked yourself up an appetite! We have included a treat, a buffet lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. The only restaurant located up at Machu Picchu. Here you will enjoy a delicious spread. After lunch you take the shuttle back down to Aguas Calientes where you will aboard a scenic train ride back to Cusco. Upon arrival into Cusco you will be met and transferred back to your hotel where you will overnight and rest after one of the most memorable and magical days of your life.
